Arboretum de l'École du Breuil

The Arboretum de Paris, associated with the École Du Breuil, was laid out and planted between 1945 and 1960 according to the school’s history. It is one of the four sites of the Jardin Botanique de Paris. Its tree collections combine broadleaved species and conifers with environments including a wetland and calcareous meadow, and support botanical study by the school’s students.

Editorial reading

Editorial interpretation: the arboretum can be read as both a living collection and a teaching landscape. Comparing tree groups with the wetland and meadow settings invites attention to classification and habitat as different ways to understand plants.

Recommendation

Use the arboretum’s labels and official plan to compare tree groups and landscape areas. Check City of Paris visitor information before travelling, and distinguish the arboretum from the separate school garden across the road.
