Freed from the English by Joan of Arc’s troops on 18 June 1429, the château of Huisseau-sur-Mauves is surrounded by moats and entered between two turrets framing a fifteenth-century porch.

Château de Huisseau-sur-Mauves is a château at Huisseau-sur-Mauves, Loiret, in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France. The recorded building campaigns date from the 12th, 15th and 18th centuries. It is protected as a monument historique at the second level (inscrit). Details are drawn from the Base Mérimée of the French Ministry of Culture.

The lordship belonged to the bishopric of Orléans and held rights of high, middle and low justice. The château, moated and restored in the eighteenth century, is two buildings at right angles with a well in the inner court, once closed by a third building of which the footings of a fourth tower remain; a vaulted tower with an oubliette may date from the twelfth century. A wrought-iron gate from the cathedral of Meaux closes the inner court. The 1970 listing covers the façades and roofs of the château and the postern, and the moats.
