Château de Jumilhac is a château at Jumilhac-le-Grand, Dordogne, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. The recorded building campaigns date from the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries. It is protected as a monument historique at the higher of the two levels (classé). Details are drawn from the Base Mérimée of the French Ministry of Culture.

The record describes the composition: the château proper, of the fifteenth century, and two wings added under Louis XIV, joined at their ends by a covered porch and two arcaded walls that closed a roughly rectangular cour d’honneur. On the rear side, it says, stretched a parterre en terrasse and an orangery, and a park completed the ensemble. The centre and both wings were classified between 1922 and 1924. The formal parterre seen in the park today answers to that description.
Recommendation
The parterre sits where the record puts it, behind the house, and it is still laid out as a parterre.
