The domain of La Moustière: avenue, icehouse and dovecote
Built around 1745 by Joseph-Abel Couture for a receiver-general of finances, La Moustière in the Indre is protected as a whole domain, from its monumental gate and southern access avenue to its icehouse and circular dovecote.

Château de La Moustière is a château at Vicq-sur-Nahon, Indre, in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France. The recorded building campaigns date from the 17th and 18th centuries. It is protected as a monument historique at the higher of the two levels (classé). Details are drawn from the Base Mérimée of the French Ministry of Culture.

The record describes a classical quadrilateral with a pedimented central bay, garlands in high relief, salons panelled throughout and Versailles parquet, a cour d’honneur framed by low dependencies, a long outbuilding to the east and two seventeenth-century buildings flanking the arrival avenue. West of the farm stands the circular dovecote. The 2022 listing covers the monumental gate, the enclosures of the court and forecourt, the southern access avenue, the icehouse and dovecote in full, and the parcels on which the domain sits; in December 2024 the château, icehouse and dovecote were classified.
