The park and pavilions of Meung-sur-Loire
Turned from an episcopal fortress into a residence of pleasure by Bishop Fleuriau d’Armenonville in the early eighteenth century, the château of Meung-sur-Loire keeps in its park two pavilions of 1784 and an icehouse, classified with the house in 2004.

Château de Meung-sur-Loire is a château at Meung-sur-Loire, Loiret, in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France. The recorded building campaigns date from the 12th, 13th, 15th, 16th and 18th centuries. Its architecture is recorded as French Baroque architecture. It is protected as a monument historique at the higher of the two levels (classé). Details are drawn from the Base Mérimée of the French Ministry of Culture.

The record runs from the twelfth-century tower beside the collegiate church to the thirteenth-century episcopal palace, the fortress freed by Joan of Arc on 14 June 1429, and the eighteenth-century transformation: a cour d’honneur bordered by corner pavilions, façades re-cut in the classical style, towers stripped of their machicolations, a south-east wing and, in 1784, a neo-classical chapel with sculpture by Delaistre. The two park pavilions are contemporary with that chapel. The 2004 classification names the music pavilion and the billiard pavilion in full, the icehouse, and the ground running from the château to the place du Martroy.
