The balustraded terraces of Poudenas
Above the Gélise valley and its old bridge, the château of Poudenas, cited in 1259 and largely rebuilt in the seventeenth century, presents Louis XIV balustraded terraces to the village and a seventeenth-century porch with flame-topped pillars in the park.

Château de Poudenas is a château at Poudenas, Lot-et-Garonne, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. The recorded building campaigns date from the 14th and 17th centuries. It is protected as a monument historique at the higher of the two levels (classé). Details are drawn from the Base Mérimée of the French Ministry of Culture.

The record describes an assemblage of buildings, most of them seventeenth-century, on very old foundations within a former double enceinte: a fifteenth-century square tower and a sixteenth-century block with mullioned windows to the north, a fine seventeenth-century range on the inner court with its terrace and period balusters, and towards the village terraces with Louis XIV balusters partly redone in the nineteenth century. In the park stands a seventeenth-century entrance porch whose pillars carry eighteenth-century flames. The 1984 classification names the south façade with its gallery and terraces, the terrace before the château’s façade and the enclosure wall.
