Moated Tennessus at Amailloux, whose tower is mentioned in 1404 and which escaped a demolition order of 1793, is listed with the ground of its two garden parcels and their enclosure walls.

Château de Thenessue ou Tennessus is a château at Amailloux, Deux-Sèvres, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. The recorded building campaigns date from the 14th and 15th centuries. It is protected as a monument historique at the second level (inscrit). Details are drawn from the Base Mérimée of the French Ministry of Culture.

The record describes a château surrounded by moats, a surviving stretch of enceinte to the west around the houses, barns and outbuildings of the farm, and outbuildings ordered around a rectangular court guarded by two lowered towers, with the date 1771 on the north lodging. The château was listed in 1943; in 1993 the ground of the two garden parcels with their enclosure walls was listed, and in 2007 the outbuildings. The gardens are thus protected as walled ground, though not described.
