The moats and enceinte of Preisch
Of the feudal castle of Preisch at Basse-Rentgen, near the Luxembourg border, the moats and part of the enceinte survive around an early-seventeenth-century château with a dovecote of the same century; the motte with its enceinte and moats was listed in 1986.

Domaine de Preisch is a château at Basse-Rentgen, Moselle, in the Grand Est region of France. The recorded building campaigns date from the 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. It is protected as a monument historique at the higher of the two levels (classé). Details are drawn from the Base Mérimée of the French Ministry of Culture.

The record lists the layers: the feudal motte with its enceinte and moats, a cross of 1514, the early-seventeenth-century château, dependencies of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, a seventeenth-century dovecote, and a castle chapel rebuilt in 1862–1865 by Jacquemin with decoration by the Metz school — sculpture by Petre and Husson, glass by Maréchal. The 1986 listing names the motte with its enceinte and moats, the façades of the château, dovecote and entrance pavilions; chapel and cross were classified in 1995. The park in autumn colour, photographed here, is not described in the record.
