Parc Philippe Perrocheau — the former Jardin des Olfacties

The site formerly known as the Jardin des Olfacties is now presented by the official Pays de Saint Gilles Croix de Vie tourist office as Parc Philippe Perrocheau. Located behind the town hall in Coëx, it is associated with Philippe Perrocheau, a grain merchant and botany enthusiast who left property to the commune. The tourist office describes picnic tables, play areas and an open-air theatre in the park.

Editorial reading

Editorial interpretation: the current public-park identity offers a more reliable starting point for a visit than older descriptions of a paid specialist scent garden. Its municipal setting and shared outdoor spaces support a reading of the place as a local landscape for everyday use.

Recommendation

Plan a walk using the current name, Parc Philippe Perrocheau, and check current visitor information with the tourist office or commune. Treat older descriptions of scented plant collections, ticket prices and specialist garden rooms as historical information requiring separate confirmation.
